The proprietors of Beach House are Tony and Helen Thomas.  I, Helen, am responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery.  I have two daughters and one baby son.  I have worked with children for many years, previously as a child minder and as a volunteer for children’s charity.  As previously mentioned I am also a fully qualified staff nurse.  Tony is a Maths Teacher and has been doing this for more years than he cares to remember!  In the school holidays he will occasionally be working in the nursery and is the main carer for our resident fish!

Tannia Cammillare is our experienced Nursery Manager, who has her BTEC national diploma in childhood studies and has worked with children for over 14 years together with the management team plans activities and outings for the children.

At all times your children will be cared for by correct staff to child ratios as suggested by the CSSIW (Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales).we are registered for 32 children. The ratios set by the CSSIW are 1:3 children under two, 1:4 children aged 2-3 years old and 1:8 for all children over 3 years old. Our two baby rooms are allowed 6 babies in each with 2 staff and the mess room is a base room and can accommodate 9 children but are allowed more for short periods e.g. mealtimes, the Peter Pan room can accommodate 6 children, and we have 2 ‘overflow areas which are used for sleeping, quiet and small group activities. From time to time there will be students studying for child care qualifications, students will not be left in sole charge of the children, they will be supervised by experienced staff at all times.  All staff at Beach House is put through rigorous reference and character checks, in accordance with the CSSIW regulations, prior to commencing employment with us. All new staff are required to undertake first aid training.
